I was introduced to this place by my cousin. Nice spot where you can dine. This place gets packed during lunch hours. I always get the yellow rice with the black beans and grilled chicken covered with honey mustard sauce! Sometimes even their sweet plantains...

Never had Dominican style roasted chicken - and it’s so good I don’t know how to act around it. Also by far some of the best beans and rice I’ve had.

Higher prices are here to stay. Tip: Pay with cash to save a bit 2025 Update: Sometimes the plantains are burnt and they are not longer selling pasteles. 2024 Update: Still one of the better places to get a meal at a decent value. Prices have gone up but still one if the better options around. The one in 7the Ave is the best (just off W. 127th st) Price is a bit higher than last time by a few dollars per item. Still delicious.

Outstanding delicious, wholesome meal. Tropical Grill employees are the nicest people in Harlem and bilingual. They never cut corners and go above and beyond. Filling plates to the brim is their practice. I’ve eaten here at least once a week going on 3 years and they’ve remained reliably consistent. Considering the location, this salmon plate is only 11 and will keep you full the entire day if eaten for lunch. I highly recommend trying Tropical Grill!
